Importing an eiConsole Industry-Specific Bundle (.eipb file)
The process shown here takes you through how to import an industry bundle that you have directly downloaded as a .eipb file.
You may or may not be beginning with an upgrade to the latest release of the eiConsole. If you have, after you have downloaded and installed the latest eiConsole slipstream release and have launched the eiConsole, the Route File Management window will open (it should appear similar to the screen shown below). If you have not installed a new release, just launch the eiConsole and the File Management screen will open.
The first thing we’ll want to do to prepare for the .eipb file import is to set up a new Working Directory. We do this so that we can import the sample files that come with the .eipb files.
Select the Create New button and using the icon buttons (Up One Level, Home, etc.) navigate to the location of your choosing for a new Working Directory (this can be anywhere on your computer). I select my eiConsole’s contents folder, use the Create New Folder icon to create a new folder, and enter a name. For ease of reference in this tutorial, I name it “eip-root”. (You can name the folder anything you choose.) I then select it and click Open.
Make note of your new Working Directory path in the drop-down (under File Management, next to the Browse button.)
What you will want to do now is to open the sample files that you will need for this tutorial. From the File menu at the top, Select the Import Working Directory/Route/Format from the drop-down and click.
When the Import Route/Format Package window opens, navigate to the location of the downloaded eiConsole .eipb file (mine was on my Desktop in a folder called PilotFish Downloads.) I select it and click Open.
The Package Import window will open. Select the Working Directory (in this instance there is only one file – make sure it is checked). Then, click the Import Selected button.
In some cases, a warning popup will appear asking if you want to replace an existing extension module with one from the bundle. Simple press Replace All to accept all the extension modules from the bundle.
You may be prompted to restart.
Note: a restart may be required if you installed a generic eiConsole bundle as the Jar files included with the eiConsole industry bundles may not be included or accessed without a restart.
If so, click Restart Now.
If you restarted and relaunched the eiConsole, or opted not to restart, the Route File Management window will open with all the Interface Packages included in your specific Bundle. Depending on which bundle you selected, the names will be similar to those shown above. Make a note of their location as you will need to access these files while doing the tutorials.
Next, click the Add Interface Package button.
When the Add Package window opens, for ease of reference in this tutorial, I enter “4 General Quick Start Interface” (or, if you’re ready to begin the ACORD LAH tutorial, name it “5 ACORD LAH Getting Started Interface”. If you downloaded a Healthcare bundle name them accordingly). Then, click OK.
Your new 4 General Quick Start Interface Package will now appear in the Interface Overview grid. Double click the row 4 General Quick Start Interface. Now that you have all the files you will need, you can proceed to the Quick Start Tutorial.
