Data Mapper Toolbar

The Data Mapper Toolbar combines common and useful actions into a single, coherent toolbar at the top of the application. Components are broken into categories of utility, with dividers standing between each category of actions.

New Mapping Schema Button
This button will create a new mapping schema, clearing off the information about the current schema from the application. If the current schema has not been saved, the user may be prompted to save or discard modifications to that schema before continuing.

Open Schema Button
This button allows the user to open a currently existing schema, represented as a file, from the filesystem via a dialog. If the current schema has not been saved, the user may be prompted to save or discard modifications to the current schema before continuing.

Save Schema Button
This button allows the user to save the current schema to a file on the local filesystem (or any locally mapped filesystems). If the schema has already been associated with a specific file (via loading from that file or by previously saving), the user will not be asked to select a file to write to. Otherwise, the user will be prompted to select a file via a dialog.

Save Schema As Button
This button allows the user to specify the file to save the current schema to via a dialog.

Undo Button
This button allows the user to undo the last modification to the current schema. Modifications are stored in the order of their arrival, and the undo action will peruse through this ordering from the last action to the first.

Redo Button
This button allows the user to redo an action that has been undone.

Exit Application Button
This button allows the user to exit the Data Mapper application and return to the parent application or window (the eiConsole). If the current schema has been modified since its last save, the user may be asked to save or discard these changes before continuing.

Add Target Sample Data Button
This button allows the user to add sample data from a file via the File Browser Dialog as the current schema’s basic template. This action is useful in setting up a basic framework from which to work.

Toggle Extensions Panel Button
This button allows the user to toggle the showing of the extensions panel in the center pane.

Toggle Info Panels Button
This button allows the user to toggle the information panels in the source, target, and center panels (usually displayed at the bottom of these respective panels).

Cut Node Button
This button allows the user to cut the currently selected node in the center pane mapping schema from the schema and place it into a “clipboard,” from which it may be pasted at a later time.

Copy Node Button
This button allows the user to copy the currently selected node in the center pane mapping schema and place it into a “clipboard,” from which it may be later pasted multiple times.

Paste Node Button
This button allows the user to paste the node in the “clipboard” (filled via cutting or copying a node) to the currently selected node in the center pane mapping schema, effectively appending it as a child to the selected node.

Move Node Up in Hierarchy Button
This button allows the user to move the currently selected node in the center pane mapping schema up in the schema hierarchy to place it at the same level as its previous parent.

Move Node Up Button
This button allows the user to move the currently selected node in the center pane mapping schema up in the list of nodes. Note that this will only take effect if the Element Order Rule is off.

Move Node Down Button
This button allows the user to move the currently selected node in the center pane mapping schema down in the list of nodes. Note that this will only take effect if the Element Order Rule is off.

Toggle Element Order Rule Button
This button allows the user to enable or disable the Element Order Rule, which determines if nodes in the tree are displayed and generated in the same order they are presented in the source and target format trees.

Toggle Contextual Help Button
This button allows the user to toggle contextual help for the mouse cursor. In this mode, any component clicked on will bring up this help system’s entry on the selected component.

Help Button
This button raises this help system with the current page pointed at the help system index.

Show About Button
This button raises a dialog to show information about the application.
